Welcome to HerHealthMD
HerHealthMD is a health education platform committed to centering women's health and driving policy change that improve outcomes for individuals and communities. Founded by a practicing OB/GYN, our mission is to engage women in meaningful conversations about the issues that matter most to them. Whether through writing, public speaking, or advocacy, we aim to empower women with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their health. We believe that when women are equipped with information and agency, they become powerful catalysts for change. While we may not have all the answers, we’re here to ask the right questions, share trusted insights, and support women—and the people they love—in leading healthy, thriving lives.

Breast Cancer Screening Saves Lives
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Early detection matters — and that starts with regular screening.
Current recommendation: Begin yearly mammograms at age 40 for women at average risk. Talk with your OB/GYN about your personal and family history to determine if you should start even earlier.
"As an OB/GYN, I’ve seen firsthand how timely screening changes outcomes. Watch for my next post featuring a friend and fellow OB/GYN’s personal breast cancer journey — a powerful reminder of why screening truly matters." - Dr. Michele Benoit-Wilson, OB-GYN
